Links to Shoulder Information Websites

This website is designed to provide patients a general overview of my philosophy on how to treat shoulder pain. It covers some of the more common shoulder problems as illustrative examples. It is not meant to serve as a replacement for the advice of a medical professional or to make a diagnosis. I have provided some useful links to websites with more extensive information on shoulder disorders. There is much incorrect or misleading information on the web. While I have tried to provide a list of sites with accurate information, I have no authority over how these organizations create or maintain their site. I can not guarantee the accuracy, relevance, timeliness or completeness of their information.

www.shoulderdoc.co.uk - This is the best website for shoulder information. It was started by Dr. Len Funk, an orthopaedic surgeon in Manchester, England. It provides extensive information on most all shoulder conditions and has grown to be the most popular website for shoulder education.

www.orthoinfo.aaos.org/menus/arm.cfu. - This is an informative website produced by the Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. It provides information on many shoulder disorders and treatment.

www.aana.org - This is the website of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. The patient information button provides access to a complete list of animated shoulder surgery videos (no blood!) so you can see how it's done.

www.shoulderarthritis.blogspot.com - This is the blog of noteable shoulder expert, Dr. Matsen, in Seattle. It contains much practical advice on the treatment of shoulder pain.

www.liftmyarm.com - Tornier shoulder replacement website with valuable information about shoulder replacements and what to expect after surgery.
