Shoulder Disorders and Treatment

    The complexity of the shoulder joint makes it susceptible to many injuries. There are 5 joints or articulations, 30 muscles and 8 ligaments that comprise the shoulder joint complex. There is the largest range of motion of any joint in the body and the movement occurs in 3 different planes. Understanding this anatomy and the various ways things can breakdown (pathomechanics) is important to develop a good treatment plan for resolution of the pain.
